Being confined to your house for months at a time may drive one over the edge but this also provides us the chance to think about what we want to accomplish once we are free. You probably take your nighttime strolls in the park for granted or regret not wearing that crazy dress that you adore. But if there is anything that this year has taught us, it is to not take our lives for granted and simply do it. Below is a carefully selected selection of experiences that we believe are worth leaving any worries at the door.
1. Skydive
Definitely, at the top of my list, skydiving is one of the most popular adventure sports' today. The excitement from leaping from an aircraft and plummeting towards the ground makes our hearts beat quicker and is the lifetime desire of every adrenaline junky like myself. It is also a method to get over your fear of heights.
2. Live With My Best buddy
Even if it is for a short length of time, living with your closest friend is an unparalleled experience. Your closest friend definitely understands you better than your parents, any partner, or even yourself. In your early years, you spend the bulk of your time with this individual, and staying with them may very well be one of the greatest choices of your life.
3. Crash a Wedding
Quoting the famous movie 'Wedding Crashers' - Life's a party. Crash it. — it is one of those ‘ screws it' moments. Suit up and with confidence, stroll right in. Enjoy an evening of free food and beverages as all you have to do is persuade the happy couple you're a long, lost cousin. What's the worst that might happen anyway? (Watch out for bouncers!)
4. Volunteer At An Animal Shelter
Dogs are animals that I adore more than myself and that can do no wrong. When I was younger, I seriously contemplated becoming a veterinarian simply to be airlessly surrounded by dogs. There are lots of pets in need and a great way to assist out is by volunteering at your local animal shelter.
5. Do the Cliched Under The Stars Date
Personally, I like to think that I'm immune to clichés, and date beneath the stars is arguably the largest one to exist yet because of its popularity in the dating scene today, it seems like a rite of passage. The thought of a night out with your significant other alone with just towering trees to keep you company as you talk astronomy is simply wonderful.
6. Ride The World's Scariest Rollercoaster
Following the previous topic of adrenaline rushes, roller coasters may do a great job at raising your heart rate up to hazardous levels. The Takabisha roller coaster at Fuji-Q Highland Park, Japan, is considered to be one of the scariest in the world with the drop hill at a 121-degree angle and certainly an excellent incentive to visit Japan at least once in your life.
7. Live in A Holiday Destination
You only live once and have to get the most out of the life you have been gifted with. It is about exploring. Living in a vacation location has its advantages and drawbacks depending on your lifestyle and tastes. Even if not for the rest of your life, a year abroad in a location where the faces constantly changing every week may do you good and help you discover yourself, meet new people and learn things you could not learn at home.
8. Learn How To Make Cocktails
Knowing how to create excellent cocktails is an art and a talent that may come in useful later on. It is certainly commendable and even if bartending is not your thing, you will have the capacity to save the costs of employing a bartender for your own little parties.
9. Be Part of a Flash Mob
They're entertaining, they're thrilling and there are only a few finer ways to spend that quiet Sunday evening. A flash mob always gets the audience moving and makes everyone presents' day a bit brighter. If you are a dancer or simply like dancing, organize a flash mob with your pals. You won't regret it.
10. Publish A Book
It is every writer's desire, including mine. Reading other people's works is my favorite hobby and while publishing your own book may seem intimidating, it is achievable if you strive for it. It is a lengthy and arduous process but maybe one of your greatest accomplishments.
11. Skinny Dip
The individuals who have gone skinny dipping are either very brave or were simply intoxicated, but they would all agree that it is something you must do in life. It is human psychology to want to do the things that we aren't allowed to do and public nudity tops the list but this thrill is worth being yelled at by the coast guard.
12. Participate in An Open Mic
Open mic events are extremely popular and in-demand since they are excellent for networking, finding new talent, and simply for enjoying a unique evening. You have the flexibility to perform anything you want, whether it be music, slam poetry, stand-up, etc. Although it may be very nerve-racking, the audiences are generally pleasant going and comfortable.
13. Go on a Spontaneous Road Trip
We have an obsessive desire to plan every second of our day to achieve an inexistent degree of productivity or for some like me, the week's work that you didn't complete and instead, chose to binge-watch 'Stranger Things' is finally catching up with you. But owing to this reason, we forget to unwind and this packed calendar hasn't enabled you to be adventurous in a while. So, hop into a vehicle with food, your music, maybe a few buddies, and simply start driving. (no pre-trip research needed)
14. Own A Lake House
One thing I'm sure of is that I am all the way a city girl yet the NYC style of living can be tiring. The decision between the beach home and lake house is subjective to your taste but it is the ideal retreat for when needed. A peaceful weekend or hosting a party will certainly be the ideal purchase.
