1. The Old Phuket Town
With remnants of Sino-Portuguese colonial architecture and elegant Chinese houses dating from the early twentieth century, walking in the area of the old city provides a glimpse of what was formerly Phuket, with its shops of Chinese herbalists, its old hotels, its local markets and old shops. Do not miss the Thai Hua Museum, Soi Rommanee, and the old building of the Standard Chartered Bank. Interesting to see to discover part of the history of Thailand.
2. The statue of the Great Buddha
This huge statue of Buddha is made of white marble that comes from Burma. It stands atop Nakkerd Hill. At 25 meters high, the statue is visible from anywhere on the part of Phuket. It is a religious site, so remember to cover your shoulders and legs if you visit (sarongs are provided free for women). Of course, you can go there just to enjoy the beautiful views.
3. Spending a day in Ko Phi Phi
An archipelago of two islands: Ko Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh Ko, 5km. Despite the significant number of tourists, the place is still beautiful and it is certainly the most beautiful beach in the world and one of the reasons why some come to Phuket. The arrival by boat at Maya Bay is spectacular.
4. See the sunset
Phuket has many viewpoints from which to admire the scenery, accessible on foot or by vehicle (be careful if you are a scooter, roads are dangerous!). You can admire the beautiful sunsets. One of the most popular spots is Promthep. Try also the views of Kata-Karon, Radar Hill, or Windmill Viewpoint for superb panoramas.
5. The Phuket beaches
The number one reason why Phuket attracts so many people is its beaches. One can simply enjoy the scenery or do activities like snorkeling, walking, or swimming... The most beautiful Phuket beaches are on the west coast of the island there from North to South Karon Beach, Kata Beach, the nearby beach a little further south of Kata Noi and the southern tip of Phuket beach N 've Han (or Nai Harn ).

A must, this bay of a hundred islands offers one of the most beautiful landscapes of southern Thailand, similar to Halong Bay in Vietnam. One can explore by kayak through caves and lagoons in the emerald green to admire karst peaks emerging from the emerald water. There is also James Bond Island which was the shooting for 'The Man with the Golden Gun'.

A trip to Phuket is also a good opportunity to try new activities such as bungee jumping, karting, quad biking in the jungle, climbing, paragliding, para-motor, tree climbing or even shooting AK47 in a shooting range for extreme sensations. 8. See the Vegetarian Festival
This festival takes place during the ninth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. For ten days the premises are strictly vegetarian diet to cleanse and participate in sacred rituals. Some invoke the Gods walking barefoot on burning or mutilating the body dramatically, offering an impressive and frightening sight to behold.
9. Diving Similan Islands
For diving enthusiasts, it is possible to access the Similan Islands from Phuket. It is located a hundred kilometers northwest of Phuket and is renowned for its exceptional diving spots, accessible to novice divers as for the more advanced. If you do not dive, it is also possible to go snorkeling. A little further north, near the Surin Islands, is Richelieu Rock which is also a popular spot for diving.
10. The Wat Chalong Temple
It is the largest temple in Phuket and one of the most visited. Built-in the early 19th century, it is very colorful and ornamented with statues of Buddhist and Thai mythology. Its architecture is typical of Thailand. You can see a stupa up 60 meters high which houses a relic of Buddha.
