What are the tools for a black French manicure?
Before you start, like we always say, collect all the tools and equipment that you would need for designing your nails. Of course, you can not go gathering items in the middle of the process, can you?
- Base coat
- Top coat
- Black polish
- Stickers ( tapes)
- Cuticle pusher.
- Cotton earbud.
- Acetone( nail polish removing solution)
Prepare your nails first
In every nail art design, you have to begin at a common point. Yup, you guessed it right! We are talking about cleaning your nails first. Unless you clean your nails properly, the designs will not be attractive, and neither will you have a salon-like finish. Even if there is no paint present on the surface of the nails, you should still use a cotton earbud dipped in acetone and roll it on the surface of the nail bed. Clean around the edges because that is where most of the debris and stray colors accumulate. Once the process of cleaning is done, there is more waiting for you.
Pushing back the cuticles
You should never push back dry cuticles. This increases the chance of bleeding as dry skin easily peels off. Many times you may even end up with a painful infection in your nail cuticular region due to careless handling of your nails. The best practice is to moisten your nails. Use cuticle oil for this purpose and then take a cuticle pusher and gently push back the cuticle to create more space on the surface of the nails.
Buffing the nails
Is it good to buff your nails? This is something many of us have wondered about. Well, some might tell you that buffing can destroy the quality of your nails as it peels off the top layers of the nails. But that is not true! Unless you are being very vigorous and rough in the process, this is unlikely to occur. Gently buff the surface of the nails to make sure that the nail bed provides a good anchorage for the base coat. Also, if you want your nail art to be long-lasting then you should buff your nails first.
Now, apply the base coat
You can not begin to paint your nails or engage in designing a pattern on the nail surface before you apply the base coat. It acts as a layer of protection between the original nails and the chemical polishes which can be damaging for your nail bed.
Begin with your French tip designing
Once your nails are done, as in, you have prepared them up, it is time for you to choose the shade for the tips. Since we are opting for black French manicure tips, use good quality black polish. It makes it easier and faster for you to use some tape to create the lines. Once the base coat has dried off, you can paste the tape on the surface of the nail leaving the tips.
Then use a black polish and trace the curvy line around your tips such that the edges are covered too. Allow the line to dry off before you peel off the tapes.
Once you are satisfied with the nail tips, apply the top coat and the job will be done.
Finishing touch
Do not apply the top coat until the polish has completely dried off. The top coat is provided only when the nails are ready flawlessly. The top coat is applied to make your nail art long-lasting and gorgeous. It also prevents the edges from chipping off.
How to get V French tips
If you are satisfied with your classic French nails and wish to try something better, then opt for the V French tips. Apply tape in the shape of a V around the nails. Do not try to skip the tapes otherwise the lines will not be straight.
However, if you have a steady hand then freehand designs can be created as well. Based on your expertise, you can choose to opt for tapes or do it by yourself. Then apply the top coat and you will be done.
