Begin with gathering your supplies
Unless you have your nail supplies in place, there is no way you will be able to do justice to your nail art. For rose nails, there are a couple of equipment that you will need! Have a look and find out.
- A set of nail art brushes.
- A light shade of polish to apply as the base coat.
- Shades to design the nails.
- Green to make the stems.
Clean your nails first
When you begin with painting your nails and engaging in nail art remember to clean your nails before you start. Otherwise, your nails will simply look dull and will not have the alon-like finish. Even if there is no paint on the nail bed, you should take an earbud, dip it in acetone, and sweep across the face of the nail especially around the edges to remove the dirt, dust, and debris.
Buffing the nails and pushing back the cuticles
Often due to repeated nail art treatment or exposure the environment makes your nail dry and brittle. To hydrate the nails as well as the dry skin around the curricular region, you should use cuticle oil. This will surely moisturize your nails and make it easy for you to push back the cuticle. Be gentle or you might cause some wear and tear and even bleeding. Sometimes due to mishandling, you will end up with an infection around the cuticular region that is often painful.
Cuticles are pushed back to free the nail surface even more which is followed by buffing where you can create better anchorage for the base coat and the polishes. However, do not buff in excess or you may damage the upper layers of the nails.
Apply the base coat now
Once you have finished the preparatory phase, now you may apply some base coat to your nails. One to two layers of neutral shade are good enough to cover the entire surface. Generally, a neutral shade is used for the base coat. In case the base color is too light, you can apply another additional layer to it. Wait for your base coat to completely dry off before you proceed with the designs.
How to do the design
You will need a colorful polish for this purpose( preferably, red). After the base coat has completely dried off, dip your nail brush into red paint. Put a few dots of red on each of the nails. Each of these is the center of the roses, then there will be leaves surrounding it! Make sure you leave enough space for that. Usually, two to three roses can be made on each finger. These shouldn't look exactly like circles, more like the oval bud of the flower in the center.
Now design two semi-circles surrounding the blotches. For these you should use a lighter shade of the polish used earlier to make the blotch in the centre. Continue to follow this pattern unless you get a nice floral pattern on your nails. The best part about these nails is that, for roses, you don't need to maintain any particular symmetry.
Continue this pattern for the rest of the nails as well. You can then apply a top coat to your nails and wait for it to dry before you move onto the leaves and the stems. The leaves will look like two tiny wings projecting from the red petals. Repeat this process to make leaves on every nail. In case, the space is limited, you can let leaves overlap each other but do not create a mess. You can take a darker shade of green to draw thin lines that will resemble the stalk or the stems.
Finish off with the top coat
Once your nails are done, you can let the design dry off and then apply the top coat to give it a glossy finish. You may make roses on every nail or contrast them with some other patterns.
There are so many wonderful rose nail art ideas that you will come across! Choose the one you find easy as a beginner.
